Auto Server

Problem : Provisioning and installing servers is time consuming for the most basic part of installation. We needed a way to automatically install, configure, and update a server to a ready to use state.

Solution : CDROM that automatically installs, configures, and reports success

Technologies Used : Bash scripting, Linux software RAID, Gentoo Linux

Result : Used to provision all new hardware when in use. Installing a new server changed from a 2-4 hours of hands on setup per server, to 60 minutes of hands off waiting for dozens of servers.
